Fundraiser success

Promotional video shown at the dinner.

On 17th September, the Club hosted a fundraising dinner to raise funds for our clubhouse renovation. The evening aimed to raise funds towards the repair and restoration of the West Pavilion, which suffered extensive damage due to major flooding from a roof tank during the Covid lockdown in January 2021.

It was a great night that saw over 300 supporters of the club come together. At the beginning, a video was shown to set the scene, which showcased the importance of the fundraising effort which is shown on the right. The night also saw interviews with Angus Fraser, Peter Wright, Alex McLeish and Frank McAvennie, who provided excellent entertainment throughout the evening. A huge thank you must also go to the host, Dougie Donnelly, as well as Des Clarke, who conducted the auction.

While the final amount is still to be determined, the Club is expecting the Dinner will contribute approx £50k to the Renovation Fund, an outstanding amount.

The Club is very grateful for the support of our dinner sponsors, Savills, one of the world’s leading property agents with over 700 offices around the globe. Additionally, we are indebted to those who have assisted the organisation of this event, notably Douglas McCrea of our club sponsors, McCrea Financial Services; Scott Murdoch, London-based but a keen sportsman and proud Scot; Satty Singh of Mr Singh’s India, the man who knows everyone; Graeme of Alliance Events along with his team of assistants. Finally, a big thank you to the staff of the Doubletree by Hilton Glasgow Central Hotel.
