West players contribute to Scotland’s first ODI win in Spain

Across September and October, West players Maryam Faisal, Nayma Sheikh, Ellen Watson and Abataha Maqsood, have been in Spain with Scotland as they faced Ireland in a series of T20s and ODIs in the Celtic Challenge.

The first ODI, which was the first official ODI since they gained full ODI status, went the way with the Scots with Kathryn Bryce leading them to a 40 run victory.

Disappointing defeats in the 3 matches saw Ireland take the Celtic Challenge, but Scotland got their second win in the series in the final T20 with a comprehensive 8 wicket victory.

Well done to Maryam, Nayma, Ellen and Abtaha, who all got playing opportunities across the series, with Ellen and Abtaha playing in every fixture.

Full scorecards can be found here and on the Cricket Scotland website there are detailed match reports.
