Rain ruins ten matches in a week

What was supposed to be an action packed week at West of Scotland was thwarted by the weather. A total of eight games across all sections of the club were washed out between Thursday and Sunday last week with a further two this week.

The only fixture completed was an U16s fixture with the WoSCC/Hillhead side taking on the Accies/GHK side once again. Having had the opposition on 35-8 at one point, the team let the opposition reach 96 by the end of the innings. In reply the team were bowled out for 53. An unfortunate loss for the side.

A marginally better forecast during the week should have seen two home T20s verses Milngavie and BBC Scotland but the weather just didn’t relent, forcing their cancellation.

The juniors are due to take the field again on Friday with games scheduled for the U12s and U14s. The weekend will see the 1st, 2nd and 3rd XIs in action on Saturday with the Sunday and Development XIs on Sunday with Monday bringing yet more junior fixtures for the U16s and U12s. Sunday also sees a Kwik Cricket festival taking place at Hamilton Crescent. Fingers crossed the weather allows us to play some cricket!
