Adult Beginner Coaching

Are you in Glasgow and interested in getting back into cricket?

Have you not played for a while, if at all?

West of Scotland Cricket Club are running an autumn programme for beginners and returners to the game to learn skills, be part of the team and keep active in a competitive, friendly environment..

After the recent World Cup and Ashes - and of course Scotland's famous victory over England last summer - cricket has been high on minds. But those who have watched the achievements of Stokes, Archer, McCloud and the others have not had a chance to learn the game, play it for themselves and achieving their own little bit of sporting glory.

Until now, when everyone has a chance to pick up a bat and ball in a specially-designed development programme for fitness, skill, competition and fun. It's suitable for total adult beginners through to those who played years ago and are keen to return. The 6 week course starts at £30, limiting places to make sure everyone gets plenty of time to play.

Why West and why now?

This summer and autumn there has been a huge surge in enquiries to the cricket club from people who want to return to cricket in Glasgow. West of Scotland has a history of growing the game in the region as a founding member of the Western Union and "The MCC of Scotland" when established in 1872. The club still holds this responsibility close to its constitutional heart and has helped young people and women in Glasgow play cricket with great success. Now it's the turn of the adult beginners and returners.

Are you keen to play some cricket too?

If you are (and reading this far, you are) you can join in with us at West. Led by qualified coaches, you can hone the basics of cricket in a fun way. From batting and bowling, through to tactics and teamwork there's something to catch your interest.

Remember, these sessions are for adult beginners or those who have been away from cricket for a long time. If you're experienced in cricket, West can cater for you in other ways. However, if you want a relaxed, fun and competitive way to get a feel for the modern game with like-minded others, you should drop us a line now to try out a session.
