Win in Last Match of Season

In a 23 overs reduced match, West batted first. Openers Young (34) and Corner (24) put on 40 for the first wicket. A slight wobble saw the Mitres on 75-3 from 12 overs. However Oliver (42) and Miller (23) put on 47 in quick time to help get West to 146 from 23 overs.

Stirling never got going in reply. A wicket maiden from McNulty in the second over helped keep the score to just 13-1 from five overs. The rate increased slightly in the middle, but wickets also fell regularly, including a rare example of Obstructing the Field when Tom Jones of Stirling was adjudged to have kicked the ball away during a run out attempt. It was 41-4 from 10 overs.

A couple of big overs towards the end were too little too late with Stirling finishing on 89-8, well short of the target.
