Andy Carswell to return to West

We are proud to announce the return of Andy Carswell as Groundsman to Hamilton Crescent for the 2024 season. Andy, who held the role for the 2022 season, has previously worked with Arsenal FC, Surrey Cricket Club and Seddon Park in New Zealand. Last year, he worked at Hornsey Cricket Club in North London, where he helped their 1XI be promoted into Middlesex Division 1.

In 2022, his test-level experience shone through as Hamilton Crescent witnessed a run fest throughout the summer, with home and away players complimenting the quality of the wickets.

Speaking after his appointment, Andy said “I can’t wait to get involved with West of Scotland again. It was always a ground where I looked forward to coming to as a player. I’m very thankful to the Board for allowing me the chance to work at West of Scotland again. It’s a ground that is unique in its own way and steeped with history. It’s a real pleasure to work with everyone involved at the Club, and hopefully together we can all achieve good things both on and off the field’”.

Andy will finish his role down south in the coming months and join West of Scotland towards the end of March.
