Jim Taylor MBE

West joins everyone in the Glasgow rugby and wider sporting community in mourning Jim Taylor’s passing on 8th December.

He was a truly inspirational figure, confined to a wheelchair after suffering a broken neck in a serious rugby accident in 1978, who launched himself into so many areas of life with immense courage, determination and good humour. He was deservedly awarded an MBE for his services to charity and sport in 2015.

Typically of Jim’s kindness and generosity, after retiring from his business role with Glasgow Warriors in October, he had offered to assist West’s fundraising for our Pavilion Restoration Appeal. We offer Jim’s wife, Sandra our sincere condolences on her great loss.
