Celebrating regional and international success
As we approach the end of the season, it’s a great time to celebrate the incredible talent we have here at West of Scotland Cricket Club. Several of our players have been recognised at regional and international level, a testament to the club’s commitment to developing our cricketers.
Mark Wilson has represented Scotland at both U17 and U19 level, combining his national duties with a breakthrough season for the club. He's become a regular member of the McCrea FS West of Scotland XI and has a promising future ahead of him.
Nadia Tolliday, captain of our Women's XI, has been instrumental in the team's success. Her exceptional bowling talents in the Premier League has caught the eye of national selectors, leading to appearances for Scotland A and the Eagles.
Jenna Stanton has had a stellar year, earning call-ups to the Scotland U17, U19, and A squads. In addition to her international commitments, she has been a standout performer for our Women's XI and has also impressed in the Partick and Hamilton Crescent XIs.
Olivia McGhee joined us this season and has already made a significant impact. A great talent, she has played for Scotland U19s, where she took a wicket on debut, as well as the Western Warriors.
Avaneesh Yilapavanam has progressed rapidly through our junior system and is now a key batter in the Partick XI. His performances have earned him a place in the McCrea FS West of Scotland XI, and he has also represented the Western Warriors U17s.
Maryam Faisal continues to excel at club, regional, and international level. Having made her Scotland debut last year, she was part of the squad that qualified for the T20 World Cup which is due to take palce in October in Bangladesh.
Last month, Lauren Payas continued her international career with Gibraltor at the Women’s Central Europe Cup. She smashed the ball to all parts and was part of a huge 147 run partnership. You can read more about her success here.
