West AGM Report 2022

Thursday 6 October saw West of Scotland Cricket Club hold its 162nd AGM at Hillhead Sports Club. We thank Hillhead CC for agreeing to host us and the club members who attended the meeting. 

We are happy to confirm that Lauren Payas has been appointed to the clubs Board of Directors. Lauren is a key figure in the clubs womens squad and replaces Rob Corner on the board. Otherwise the directors and office holders remain the same.

We were also pleased to confirm our club captains for the season for all squads:

Womens Captains:

Women’s XI - Captain: Nadia Tolliday, Vice Captain: Nayma Sheikh

Senior Captains:

McCrea FS West of Scotland XI - Captain: James Fennah, Vice Captain: Callum Dutia

Partick XI - Captain: Ben Cole, Vice Captain: Jonny Williams 

Hamilton Crescent XI - Captain: Tom Broadley, Vice Captain: Ross Wilson

Sunday XI - Captain: Andrew Strong

Development XI - Captain: John McDermott

Midweek XI - Captain:  Mahavir Singh Dhillon

FE Letherby (1st XI Player who gave most off and on the pitch) - Callum Dutia

Raymie Reubens Quiach (3rd XI Player who gave most off and on the pitch) - James Scott

Changing the Boundaries

Club members were also updated on the recent Changing the Boundaries report and the clubs response. Directors Chris Ross and Suet Lin Teo will be working over the coming months to engage with West members to ensure we continue to provide an inclusive playing environment. Since the AGM, ex West junior Anjan Luthra has been appointed chair of Cricket Scotland. We pass on our congratulations and look forward to working with Anjan and other key stakeholders to tackle racism in Scottish Cricket.
