West and Glasgow Uni Women unbeaten in Wee Bash
Members of West’s Womens team were part of an unbeaten side in Cricket Scotland’s most recent Wee Bash tournament.

A women’s team made up of players from West and Glasgow University travelled to Dunfermline at the end of January to play in Cricket Scotland latest Wee Bash tournament.The Wee Bash is a series of friendly indoor cricket tournaments for female participants, played over the winter months. A short 5-over format, the competition was a great opportunity to play some fun indoor cricket before the start of the season and got everyone excited for the start of the outdoor season!
Their first match against Prestwick saw the side elect to bowl and some great boundary stops, catches and a wicket by Vanya. Vanya then joined Imogen at the crease to open the batting before Olivia came in at three and to see the match out, with each hitting boundaries to take a solid win. The second match against Stenhousemuir saw the side elect to bowl again with Cammy, Olivia and Mamie taking wickets. Cammy and Mamie then went out to bat, where Mamie hit three 6s in a row. Naomi then joined Cammy to guide the team home with both hitting several boundaries to secure a second win of the day. The third match also resulted in a win, this time against Doune and Dunblane where a solid opening partnership from Vanya and Imogen gave the side a foundation before Mamie, Olivia and Cammy’s contributions with the bat saw the team home to another victory.
To finish the day, all teams took part in a bigger match with West and Glasgow University players teaming up with Doune and Dunblane against Stenhousemuir and Prestwick. This game saw some excellent bowling from the team and catches by both Olivia and Cammy, as well as some solid batting performances.
Overall, it was a great day with some great cricket played by the whole team. Congratulations to all involved from the West/Glasgow University team who went unbeaten the entire day!
